Gentlemen:

By this letter I introduce to your good selves the firm and its owner:

Meticulous Metal Roofing, R. J. Stoner Contracting, LLC

Our home on Capitol Hill is one of the oldest (c.1853) in the
neighborhood, with a steeply pitched roof; and it is protected by
a Facade Easement registered with the L’Enfant Trust.  The replacement
of its ancient tin roof required a delicate, attentive and expert touch---and
Ron Stoner brought to the task exactly those qualities.

I would add two other elements to my recommendation:  Mr. Stoner’s price
for the job was entirely reasonable; and this includes the (inevitable)
old house “surprises”.  Finally, it was certainly a pleasure to work with
Mr. Stoner—and this is an important thing, for weather (rain) is always
a factor in a roofing job, and the weather-induced adjustments to the
original schedule were always handled with grace and skill and experience.

Tin and copper roofing is this firm’s lifelong specialization, and Capitol Hill
has many roofs which need this kind of skill.

Sincerely yours,

James W.

Capitol Hill Village Member

Dear Ron:

We just wanted to thank you for the marvelous job you did with our metal
roof on Capitol Hill. As we discussed with you, for months we were dealing
with leaks, falling ceilings and attempted patches until you came to our
rescue.

Your recommendations definitely led us in the right direction.  When we
decided to go with replacing the whole roof with metal, you did a superb
job.  Not only did you replace the metal roof, but you also replaced air
vents, recapped exhaust pipes and reflashed the skylight.  We are very glad
the neighbors with an adjoining roof used you as well so we no longer have
any leaks from any source.

You are certainly "meticulous," clean, neat and very knowledgeable about
roofing -- and, you completed our roof in a timely and very professional
manner.  We will be using your company for all of our roofing needs and
recommend your services without reservation.  Thank you again for all you
have done.

Dear Ron,

Many thanks for saving the tin roof on my house.  In the past, paint never
adhered properly to the roof.  I would scrape flaking paint and repaint, but
within a year it would begin to flake again.  After going through this
exercise many times the roof was beginning to show signs of deterioration.

Now, after your careful preparatory work and painting with a new,
better-quality paint, I am confident the roof will keep my house dry for
years to come.  You also rescued an ancient, rather sorry-looking tin roof
on my garage.

I am very satisfied.  Please feel free to refer future clients to me.

Ron,

I am finally getting around to letting you guys know how much I love our new
porch roof. It's beautiful, and my only regret is I can't see it from the
front without crossing to the other side of the street. So I have to content
myself with admiring it from our bedroom windows.

The second coat of paint made a big difference in how it looks, so thank you
for adding a second coat.

If you ever need to give me as a reference, feel free to. I'd be happy to
sing the praises of Meticulous Metal Roofing.

I also wanted to tell you that more than one roofer coming out to look at
our main roof sees our metal roof , gives a bit of an uncomfortable look
(disappointment? jealousy?; I'm not sure) and comments on the quality of it.
We've been told more than once that it's a good job and when I poked around
about how much they would have charged us for the "same" work, yes, it was
more.

Sorry it took me so long to get around to giving you feedback. I'm a very
distracted mom of a 15 month old.
